Sound problem.

It's really well done. only problem i have with it is that the sound isn't synced properly. Try using the stream sync option if you haven't already.

Nice Work

Although it's really been done before, I think this still shows talent. The blue gradient for the sky was well used, and the setup of the stage was pretty nice (could have been better though, some spikes or something maybe). The animation itself was pretty smooth. The sound was great. Good job on the music. Next time you use some of your own music, I reccomend you put it into the AP and use a credits link to it. You'll get more downloads and reviews that way. I haven't checked out your other work yet, but I hope you do some more complex and original stuff in the future.

The art is amazing, and the story is intriguing. I can't wait until more of the story is revealed in the next episode. Most of the animation is smooth, although the throat-slit could have been enhanced, but it wasn't bad. It's great to see you doing something this good.

[A Skate Movie: Part One]

pretty awesome...

for a first movie. It was definately worth more than most of the "skate" movies you see on NG. Nice background, and the animation was pretty smooth. I think I'll go check out your other work.

Thank you for the nice review and many people have congratulated me on the background. I guess that it was actually worth it because what I noticed from most of the other stick skate movies was that most of them didn't actually have a background. Now I wanted to do something different and better so, I included a background that was actually worth seeing. Once again, this was done when I was still learning flash and believe it or not, it was done in 12 FPS!

great new stuff

it's awesome to see new styles on NG. So much of the stuff we see here is unoriginal crap. This is really a good fresh of breath air. Cowboy Bebop music gives it a very nice touch (and maybe makes me a little biased, which may be why i vote 5 on this whenever I remember to ;-) ). If you use this style again in the future, you may want to make sure that your figure remains defined and consistant throughout the whole thing.

Yes, consistency was an issue with this film, my father pointed that out as well, I'll have to work on it :)!

I actually like it in a strange way. You should work on sound syncing though, the timing was all off.

I'll try not to repeat too much of what other people said. I think it shows real potential, and I'm very excited to see what you come up with next. I agree that the art could use some fixing up. Just try to eliminate any unnecessary lines. But you said that the next episode will have much better art, so that sounds good. The sound was great, but you need to compress it better (I assume that's why the file size was so large), so you lost a few points there. The plot seemed fine to me. Sure, it jumped around a bit, but lots of ppl do that, and I don't see any problem with it as long as I know who the characters are (which I did).

I'd say your best bet is to really take your time on the next one.

Well I guess I'll hold off on promising 3 times that I'll have the next cartoon done before August. Thanks for the suggestion though, you're right about needing to take my time. Actually this submission probably would look better if I wasn't on the Flash MX 30-trial. Speaking of this cartoon...

Potential: After watching my own cartoon for a while, I think that this submition really only shows that I know how to work the basics of Flash.

Sound: It's a real bitch to compress this, and the BBS Forums do help, but I read a lot of different things like "wavs make the file bigger" or "use only MP3s"

Plot: Pssh. Right, who makes those anymore? What are these "plots"?

Artwork: To be honest I loath myslef for the first half of animatics in this cartoon. All hand drawn in the application, wavey lines, and lack of color. The "Re-rendered Carlo" was scanned in then converted to flash. (I hear a lot of people do this, I should have thought of it sooner)
